Call to Artists
The Deering Estate at Cutler is a geographic location rich with cultural possibilities and the neighboring area is rich in cultural diversity. In 2006, the Estate began to invest in the development of programs specifically to engage local and international, juried, visual and performance artists to interact with our community.
A "CALL TO ARTISTS" is currently available for the following annual exhibits at the Deering Estate:
CALL TO ARTISTS: YOUTH ARTS DAY & MUSIC FEST
Completed application forms are due at the Deering Estate by March 15, 2013.
Youth Arts Day & Music Fest is a community collaboration celebrating creativity, youth artists, diversity, and creating awareness of Miami-Dade County’s rich cultural resources. Youth Arts Day & Music Fest features a month long visual and literary art exhibition as well as a day long series of youth performance and art on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
CALL TO ARTISTS: "AFFAIR EN PLEIN AIR"
This is an independently juried competition open to any local artist and students in Grades 9-12.
Registration fees: $40.00 for non GroveHouse Artists and $30.00 for GroveHouse Artist Members; $30.00 for students

Send completed registration forms and fees to GroveHouse Artists by April 6, 2013. Please note that NO registrations will be taken on the day of the event.
GroveHouse Artists and the Deering Estate at Cutler will be hosting a two-day juried outdoor art event on Saturday & Sunday, April 20th & 21st. Artists will be working throughout the Estate on Saturday, April 20th, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday, April 21st, 10 am – 1 pm.
Judging will take place on Sunday, April 21st at 1:30 pm in the Carriage House. Prized will be awared to students at the completion of the judging. Adult artists will be judged onsite and then awarded at the exhibit opening on June 19, 2013. The exhibit opening on June 19th is FREE and open to the public.
Winners can exhibit their work as part of the 2013 Summer Art Exhibit to be held in the Richmond Cottage at the Deering Estate at Cutler from May 24 - July 26, 2013. The exhibit is Free with Estate admission: $12 for adults and $7 for children (ages 4-14).
